The GPM Story
GPM Manufacturing was created by spa retailers who saw a better way to build, support, and improve wellness products.
GPM Manufacturing was born out of real-world retail experience during a challenging time in the pool and spa industry.
During the pandemic, spa retailers faced major supply issues, long wait times, and growing frustration from both dealers and customers. Pool & Spa Depot, a long-established retailer since 1998, responded by accelerating a long-term goal: entering the manufacturing side of the business.
Company President Peter Von Hopffgarten explained that after years of selling many different hot tub brands, the team had seen what worked, what didn’t, and where products could be improved. Rather than continue relying on manufacturers who were not always receptive to retailer feedback, they decided to build the product themselves.
GPM Manufacturing was created to solve the practical problems retailers and customers experience every day. With a state-of-the-art facility in Franklin, Kentucky, the company began developing products shaped by frontline feedback, hands-on retail knowledge, and a clear understanding of what sells in showrooms and performs well in customers’ backyards.
